SFI Promotion Course
DAY 12
Well, it's the 12th lesson. It may not be the 12th day thanks to the *reality* of
computers and the Internet, namely, they don't always do what you expect or want!
I try to get this course out daily, but sometimes software glitches happen. Sometimes
hardware fails. Sometimes you can't connect to the Internet. Sometimes... well you get the
point.
The reason that I bring this up is that in this course, you're starting to experiment
with software programs, websites, and people you've probably had little to no experience
with. I know that I still hold onto the idea that these tools and services should work
perfectly, effortlessly, accurately.
I just want to tell you that I hold onto this idea even though, in my 6 years marketing
online... it's NEVER happened that way!
So, if you have the same experience I've had, don't worry, that's just the way it is.
And if you're more enlightened that I am, perhaps you'll handle it with more grace and
less shouting at your monitor ;-)
##### Today's Lesson #####
Today I want to share a couple of unrelated things with you. Some you'll be able to do,
others you'll ignore.
One of the things that happens as you start doing online promotions is that tools,
services, etc. seem to come out of the woodwork. It's not that any more of them suddenly
exist, but your new awareness brings them to your attention.
Have you ever decided to buy a new car and then, as you drove around, noticed more of
that model you wanted than ever before. Like they put an extra batch of your new car on
the road. Same thing.
So here are some bits and pieces you might like:
1) In the same way you can set up an FFA page, you can set up a FREE classified page.
When people submit ads to your classified site, they get your SFI advertisement sent to
them in return.

2) Another banner ad service I've found is at:

3) A place you can put up a FREE FFA page is at:
http://www.ffaomatic.com
Technically, you're supposed to have a website where you can place an ad for
FFA-o-matic... but I've heard they don't check... so sign up for a page.
4) Those of you on AOL have a couple of great resources at your disposal. There are
various forums that have free classified ad areas as well as "conversations" you
can participate in.
Obviously, the MLM forum is one place, but use your imagination to find others (look
for business, stay-at-home parents, marketing, etc.)
The other resource you have is PAID classifieds! I've used them and they work!
New ads are placed at the top... but there's a secret to keeping your ad at the top.
After you place your ad, you'll get instructions about how to change it. Every few
days, change your ad slightly. When they update your ad, it goes back to the top!
5) Speaking of AOL, I think the forums, the classifieds, and yesterday's special
technique make it worth having.
And, if you already have an ISP that you connect to the Internet with, you can connect
to AOL for HALF the normal price.
On the other side of the coin, if you use AOL 4.0, once you're connected, AOL is acting
like an ISP and you can use other Internet software, like Eudora, Netscape and any of the
tools I've mentioned here and on the resource page at:

6) If you have a virtualave.net account with an FFA page (and YOU SHOULD!), go check it
out the behind the scenes. If you've been afraid to do this, even better. Remember, none
of this stuff is rocket science. So look at the confirmation email that virtualave.net
sent you and go to the administration area. Poke around. Don't worry, if you don't change
anything, you won't hurt anything... but don't be afraid to play.
7) Remember that the WildFire Co-op, Eagle Co-op, Prostep and DailyLeads are GUARANTEED
ways to get Affiliates and grow your downline! And WFC and Prostep can be FREE once you
get them going! If you value your time at more than minumum wage, you should REALLY
consider using these tools! More info about them is on my DO training site.
