DAY 19
Today I'm going to reveal one of my biggest secrets.
I get a lot of email from people asking one of these two questions:
"I have no money and I want to promote SFI. What should I do?"
or...
"I have $200 to spend promoting SFI. What should I do?"
When people ask me these questions, what they're *really* asking is, "Tell me the
ONE THING that DEFINITELY WORKS."
And the reason they're asking *that* is that they're *also* saying, "I want this
to work... and I'm afraid of making a mistake."
I have good news and bad news.
First the bad news.
I don't have an answer to either question.
Now the good news.
I have an answer to both questions.
*** The Bad News ***
There is no ONE THING to do. I can't point you to a SPECIFIC place to advertise or a
SPECIFIC tool that works every time.
First of all, if there were ONE BEST place to advertise, everyone would be trying to
use it!
If there were ONE TOOL that worked without any thinking, EVERYONE would be using it!
That's why the tools help, but using them properly is what makes them work.
Think about this: if everyone did the same thing, that thing wouldn't work for ANYONE!
It's not an accident that in this training, there are DOZENS of different techniques.
ALL of them work... when done properly.
How do you know how to do them properly? Try them! If they don't work, figure out what
you did wrong?
Did you pick a bad ezine to run an ad in? Did you use a bad headline? Did you forget to
put your SFI website URL in properly (hell, even *I've* done that!)? Did you mail an ad to
an opt-in list that doesn't accept ads? Did you not do ENOUGH (e.g. expecting that posting
to 10 FREE classified sites would set you up for life).
There are lots of questions I ask myself when a promotion doesn't do what I expected.
Be careful of generalizing. Don't make the mistake of thinking "If *this
particular* ezine ad didn't work, then *ALL EZINE ADVERTISING* doesn't work."
And even though I've taught you dozens of techniques here, don't think that you need to
master them all. Frankly, you just need one that consistently works.
It looks to me that if you can generate 1-2 Affiliates per day, you're probably on
course to make $5,000-$10,000 a MONTH within 12-24 months!
And many of the techniques I've taught can generate that kind of volume...
AUTOMATICALLY!
When you think of getting that kind of money in 2 years or so, and the FREEDOM it can
provide you, don't you think it's worth spending 90-180 days (the amount of time you
committed to) to EXPERIMENT and find a technique that works for YOU?
*** The Good News ***
While I can't tell you SPECIFICALLY what to do, I can tell you the basics of what's
working for people.
When people in the Downline Online group start getting lots of Affiliates, I ask them
what they're doing. Happily they tell me.
Copy what they're doing and you can get the same results they're getting . I'll tell
you how.
Without further ado...
### THE TOP 5 PROMOTION TECHNIQUES ###
(not in order of effectiveness... they all can be equally effective)
*** #1 - Ezine and Newsletter Advertising ***
There are a number of DO members getting 2-5 Affiliates per day with Ezine ads.
Get your ad out to thousands, or tens of thousands or HUNDREDS of thousands of people
for $5-$50.
I've already told you where to subscribe to hundreds of Ezines in a previous Day's
training.
Also, go to http://downlineonline.com/members/ezine.htm and find some ezines to test.
Don't limit yourself to business opportunity Ezines and newsletters. General Interest
publications work as well. There are a lot of people who would like to turn 20 minutes a
day online into $2,000 a month (YES, that IS a good headline!) who DON'T read business
opportunity ezines.
Experiment.
Try different ezines. Try different headlines and copy.
GET A DISCOUNT -- often you can run your ad for less money than the Ezine publisher
says on the "rate card." How? Two ways.
First, ask if they have "remainder" or "run of space" ad space.
When a publisher has ad space leftover right before publication, they'll often sell this
space at a BIG discount.
Second, you can simply ask for a discount. Tell them you're testing an ad and if it
pulls well, you'll commit to a month or two in advance. See what happens.
Ask for advice -- show the publisher what you're doing and ask if they have advice on
the best ad copy to use, since they know their readers better than you do.
Heck, see if they want to sign up for SFI -- all they have to do is become a member,
and run ads, and their downline will build AUTOMATICALLY!
When you find an Ezine that works, RUN WITH IT! Keep using it! If the ad stops pulling
as well after a 4-6 weeks, change your ad.
Remember, some ezines let you do direct mailings of JUST YOUR AD to their entire list!
Only do this once you know you have an ad that works.
*** #2 - FFA Pages ***
There are a lot of DO members getting 1-4 Affiliates per day with FFA pages... and once
you set them up, it takes about 2 minutes per WEEK to maintain them!
When you have your own FFA page, like the one at http://bodypure.com/links.htm and
people submit ads to your page, they get an ad sent back to them automatically.
If this is a good ad, they'll sign up with SFI. Plain and simple.

*** #3 - Mailing to your list ***
Same thing. People are getting 1-5 Affiliates per day by doing this!
Whether "your list" is the opt-in lists you've subscribed to
(http://downlineonline.com/members/optin.htm) or a list of names you've purchased, or a
list you've collected from your FFA page... it doesn't matter.
If you consistently add names to your list and consistently mail to your list with an
ad they respond to, you get affiliates.
Remember to process remove requests IMMEDIATELY! Don't keep mailing to people who don't
want your mail. Just find more people!
*** #4 - Prostep and Dailyleads ***
This is a variaton of #3. Prostep and DailyLeads give you LOTS of high-quality names
that you can mail to over and over.
We're getting TREMENDOUS results over time from mailing to these names.
EVERY top producer in SFI is using at least one of these services!
*** #5 - Our co-op ad programs ***
If you're willing to spend a few bucks, the WildFire Co-op and Gery's Eagle Co-op are
bringing in leads EFFORTLESSLY. All you do is spend the money and the work is done FOR
YOU.
Remember that with WFC, once it gets going, it can be FREE!
### EXTRA BONUS -- The other things that work! ###
I don't want to give the impression that those three things are the ONLY things
working. Far from it. These are some of the other things that people do that work:
-- FFA BLASTS - especially using the FULL version of FFA Blaster
(http://downlineonline.com/ffa/ ... then BUY THE FULL VERSION) because it submits to over
11,000 FFA pages! The key to having FFA Blasts work is a good headline in your outgoing
blast and, if you're using an autoresponder as your "reply to" address, a good
subject line and ad there, too.
If you're not getting the results you want (we average 1-2 Affiliates per blast), try
different headlines and autoresponder subjects.
DO NOT use multi-response autoresponders as your reply to address!
Use a REAL address (could be a hotmail.com address that you don't care about) as the
reply to address for your autoresponder!
I recommend doing FFA blasts about 1 time per week. More if you DON'T use an
autoresponder for the reply to address.
-- The Classified Connection - TCC submits your ad to over 6,500 free classified sites.
Use an autoresponder for your Reply To address. We're seeing people get 1-2 affiliates per
classified ad blast. I recommend using TCC once a week or so.
-- BANNER AD networks - especially places that let you pay per click on your banner,
rather than per impression.
-- AOL/ICQ members - doing instant chat with members of AOL or ICQ can bring in 5-10
Affiliates per DAY!
It takes more time than other techniques, but it costs NOTHING!
-- OFFLINE ADS - ads in newspapers, magazines, etc. that point to your SFI site WORK!
Flyers and business cards WORK! I like one's that just say: "Want to make money
online? Go to http://sixfigureincome.com/free/?yourID for FREE details about how you can
make $2,000+ per month, working 20 minutes per day online!"
-- CLASSIFIED ADS - paid ads tend to work better. But freebies work as well. The thing
with classifieds is VOLUME. More is better, we're seeing.
-- SEARCH ENGINE PROMOTION - works, but it takes a while. I use Web Promotion Spider to
submit my gateway pages to HUNDREDS of search engines and directories.
-- DIRECT EMAILING - using services like Postmaster Direct or SMIP
(http://www.submitmaster.net/join.cgi?sa4473100) or mailing to the SmartbotPro list, or to
the MyReply.com list WORK! BIG TIME. This is not inexpensive, but it does work. Again,
make sure you've tested your ad somewhere less expensive before you run with one of these
services.
REMEMBER, this is NOT a complete list. BE CREATIVE! Find something that works FOR YOU
and you'll be successful, GUARANTEED!
